Don’t Grow Weary “Let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9
October is a harvest month. The air cools, the leaves change, and fields that were planted in spring now yield their fruit. Paul’s words to the Galatians remind us that the Christian life is also a season of sowing and reaping. What we plant in faith, love, and service will one day bear fruit in God’s time.
This fall, we’ve seen fresh energy in our church — new ministries kicking off, worship filled with joy, and new faces discovering a spiritual home. That momentum is not accidental. It’s the result of faithful sowing — your prayers, your service, your generosity, and your willingness to invite others to experience God’s love.
But Paul also warns us: don’t grow weary. Every harvest comes with a season of work, and sometimes we get tired. That’s when we most need to remember God’s promise — if we keep at it, we will reap. Here’s how we can keep sowing this October:
● Sow in Worship. Keep showing up to encounter God. Cherrydale is better when you are there!
● Sow in Service. Use your gifts in a ministry, whether behind the scenes or up front.
● Sow in Witness. Invite a neighbor, coworker, or friend. A single invitation may plant a seed that changes a life.
And don’t forget: this month we join Christians worldwide in World Communion Sunday. That celebration is a glimpse of the ultimate harvest — God’s Kingdom, gathered from every nation, tribe, and tongue. Let’s keep sowing, keep serving, and keep shining the light of Christ. The harvest is coming, and it will be beautiful.
Grace and peace,
