Children & Youth
All children are welcome at Cherrydale United Methodist Church! We know that today, families are always on the go, and this is precisely why we chose a Cheetah as our Sunday school mascot. During our time together on Sunday mornings we take time to make lasting friendships, and learn not just about God but seek to know God personally as we hear and learn about God’s promises for us.
We meet during the 11:00 am worship service. All families begin worship together in the sanctuary. Children Pre-K – 5th grade head upstairs to our Sunday School classrooms after the children’s moment early in the worship service.
We seek to share the love of Jesus with children and inspire them to become life-long Christ followers. We do this through a variety of activities including crafts, games, service projects and bible study. Children are an important part of Cherrydale. Our congregation intentionally includes children in worship, service and fellowship.
Join us for Vacation Bible School each summer. Watch for details about our plans for next summer!
Children’s music time takes place occasionally after Sunday School . We explore handbells, contemporary and choir music with different members of our congregation. The children perform in worship frequently and enjoy working together to “make a joyful noise!”
Our Sunday School teachers are background checked and participate in an annual child safety training. Contact office@cherrydaleumc.org for more information.

Youth Group meets weekly on Sundays from 5 – 7 pm. We are excited to welcome Bailey Jones, our new Ministerial Intern from Wesley Seminary. Bailey will be leading our 2022/2023 youth group.

Our youth also have a strong tradition of mission work and have been on many trips – from Appalachia and Hurricane Sandy relief to Puerto Rico and Belize! The cornerstone of our youth program is training youth to be the hands and feet of Christ through service to others.
